The Three Cities contain some of the narrowest streets in Malta. Vittoriosa in particular — with its medieval street grid inside the fortified walls of Birgu — has lanes that are impassable for standard recovery trucks. Senglea's peninsula streets and Cospicua's older residential areas are similarly tight in places.
