Jump start or replacement?

If your battery is simply drained — lights left on, car unused for weeks — a jump start is usually enough, and cheaper. If the car keeps failing to start, the battery is more than 4–5 years old, or it won't hold a charge after a jump, it needs replacing. Not sure? We'll test it when we arrive and tell you honestly which you need.

When you contact us, please send a quick photo of your current battery. Batteries vary more than most people expect: some cars, such as the Toyota Vitz, use smaller terminal posts than standard, and on others the positive and negative terminals are on opposite sides. A photo lets us bring the right battery the first time, so you're back on the road in one visit.

We stock Steco and Mutlu batteries in sizes to suit most petrol, diesel and start-stop cars, so we can usually fit you on the same visit. If you'd prefer a specific brand, we can source it for you — it may just take a little longer to get to you. Every battery we fit comes with a 2-year warranty.

Mutlu — a long-established European battery manufacturer, widely used by workshops across Malta.
Steco — a dependable everyday battery at a good price point, well suited to Malta's climate.

Which battery does your car need?

Not all car batteries are the same, and fitting the wrong type can shorten its life or cause faults.

Standard (flooded) batteries are the traditional type and suit most older petrol and diesel cars without start-stop. They're the most affordable option.

EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) is a tougher version built for cars with basic start-stop systems. It handles the constant restarting far better than a standard battery.

AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries are designed for cars with start-stop plus higher electrical loads — regenerative braking, larger infotainment systems, and many newer or premium models. They're the most robust and the most expensive. If your car came with an AGM battery, it must be replaced with an AGM.

Can you replace a battery on a start-stop car?

Yes. Start-stop cars need AGM or EFB batteries and, on some models, the new battery has to be registered with the car's computer. We carry the right batteries and register them accordingly

Will I lose my radio and settings?

In most cases no. We use a memory saver not to loose these settings.

Do you come to Gozo?

Yes, 24/7. Arrival times are longer than on Malta — we'll give you an estimate when you call.

What if the battery isn't the problem?

We test the charging system before fitting anything. If it's the alternator or starter, we'll tell you and can tow you to a garage instead.

Do you take the old battery?

Yes, we remove and recycle it at no extra cost.
